Know who will treat you
Ask for the treating dentist’s qualifications and check the local professional register. Regulation and routes for raising concerns differ between countries. Speak to your own dentist about your plans, too.
Plan beyond the appointment
Find out where follow-up care will happen, who to contact after returning home, and what happens if you need further treatment. Ask who would pay for additional treatment, travel and accommodation.
Take time with the answer
Request the aftercare and complaints arrangements in writing. If something is unclear, ask again before committing. Treatment in the UK and treatment abroad both deserve a considered decision based on your circumstances.
